Common questions
The weather won't load
Weather, radar, maps, and routing need a connection. Only the light (sun, moon, golden hour, twilight, Milky Way timing) is computed on your device. Check your signal, then pull to refresh. The app caches your last fetch, so recent conditions still show while you're offline.
Why is my location wrong?
Go to iOS Settings → ShootLight → Location and allow access. If you deny it, the app falls back to a default location and any spots you add manually. Everything else still works.
AR Sky isn't showing the camera
AR Sky needs camera permission: iOS Settings → ShootLight → Camera. No LiDAR required. If you'd rather not grant camera access, use the simulated Preview mode instead.
Why did it rate a clear midday only “Good”?
Golden hour scores highest because low, warm, directional light is ideal. A clear midday is a genuinely usable window, just harsher and flatter, so it rates well, but not top. Overcast is never rated the top band.
Can I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Yes. ShootLight is a one-time $9.99 purchase tied to your Apple Account. Sign in with the same Apple Account and download it again at no extra cost.
Refunds
All purchases and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
